چکیده

Characterization of metabolites and microbiota composition from human stool provides powerful insight into the molecular phenotypic difference between subjects with normal weight those overweight/obesity. The aim this study was to identify potential metabolic bacterial signatures that distinguish overweight/obesity state in children/adolescents. Using 1 H NMR spectral analysis 16S rRNA gene profiling, fecal profile 52 children aged 7 16 evaluated. were classified three groups (16 normal-weight, 17 overweight, 19 obesity). metabolomic identified four significantly different (p < 0.05) among based on one-way ANOVA testing: arabinose, butyrate, galactose, trimethylamine. Significantly 0.01) genus-level taxa edgeR differential abundance tests genus Escherichia Tyzzerella subgroup 3. No significant alpha-diversity detected groups, no correlations found metabolites. findings support hypothesis increased energy harvest obesity by gut bacteria through growing observation butyrate overweight/obesity, as well an increase certain monosaccharides stool. Also supported is trimethylamine indicator unhealthy state.

Systematic Bias Introduced by Genomic DNA Template Dilution in 16S rRNA Gene-Targeted Microbiota Profiling in Human Stool Homogenates

Variability in representation of microbial communities can be caused by differences in microbial composition or artifacts introduced at sample collection or processing. Alterations in community representation introduced by variations in starting DNA concentrations have not been systematically investigated in stool samples. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effect of the genomic DNA (gD...
